Síň slávy – Aneta Coolbergenová

Rozhovor s další úspěšnou držitelkou FCE, která se zúčastnila letního intenzivního přípravného kurzu, ale spoustu přípravy udělala doma.

1) What did the preparation give you?

The preparation taught me how to learn properly. I learned a lot of new words and phrases as well. Thanks to this preparation I am more confident in speaking.

2) How did you prepare and what was the most difficult to prepare for?

I did a lot of exercises online. When I was wrong, I wrote the mistake into my journal and a few days later I opened the journal again and learned. I visited an FCE summer course as well and it helped me a lot.

3) What was the most difficult during the exam and how did you deal with it?

For me the most difficult part was grammar – especially when there was a spare time because I was overthinking everything too much. When I was not sure about my answer, I just read the question over and over again and then I changed my mind from time to time. I tried to stop my „overthinking process“ but it did not help much.

4) What should other students pay special attention to?

They should pay special attention to grammar for sure! Grammar was the most difficult part for me even though I learned for this part a lot.

5) How fast did you learn the results and when did you get the certificate?

I learned the results about 1,5 month after the exam. I got a certificate 3 months after the exam.

6) Do you have any tips for people who would like to prepare well for the exam? (websites, ways to study, tricks etc.)

I think that every person is different so everyone has their own ways to study. I personally like to study alone. I must read things out loud and also write them down. The best website for me was https://www.fceexamtips.com.

7) Is there anything you would do differently if you were taking the exam again?

No, I don´t think so.

8) Are you going to prepare for a higher exam or was FCE your main goal? Why or why not?

I´m not going to prepare for a higher exam in a close period of time, but maybe in a few years I will try CAE. FCE is enough for now.

9) Are you happy with your result?

Yes, I´m happy. Of course, I could have been better, but there is always something to improve.
